Some employers advertise for an RBT; others recruit a behavior technician or para with different entry requirements. Ask which credential is required when you start, what training the employer provides and whether training time or fees are covered. A BT title does not by itself mean that no certification is required.
For home-based work, confirm the towns you will travel between and the gaps between sessions. For a school or clinic, ask about the daily start and finish times, school breaks, cancellations and minimum scheduled hours. Get the details for the particular opening, not a general company schedule.
If fieldwork is part of your plan, ask who would supervise you, whether there is a written agreement, any cost and what activities are available. A listing marked “supervision included” is an employer statement; it does not establish that your hours will count toward a credential.
